Christine Kehoe, my openly lesbian state senator.

Gays-in-the-military activist Darren Manzella. Manzella came out to his military supervisor in August 2006 and was redeployed to Iraq anyway.
Story.

Gilbert Baker. He created the rainbow flag.

California Assemblyman Mark Leno, D-San Francisco. He authored both of the same-sex marriage bills that the Legislature passed, only to see them vetoed by the Governator. Of course, the California Supreme Court later gave us marriage anyway, and the weddings started June 16.

Peter Tatchell, Britain's most famous gay activist. Well, unless you count Sir Ian McKellen, but his fame really came from acting, though he's now a rockin' activist, too. And Boy George and Elton John aren't really activists, though Elton is once in a while, more so on AIDS issues.

Yeah, I'm gonna give Peter that title. He was Pride's international grand marshal.

Veteran activist Robin Tyler, left, and wife Diane Olson. They were the first legally married same-sex couple in Southern California, tying the knot June 16 at 5:01 p.m. in Beverly Hills. Olson is the granddaughter of former California Gov. Culbert Levy Olson (1939-1943).

Toni Atkins, my openly lesbian City Councilwoman.
